While in Bear Cove you may want to kayak, dig clams at low tide, pack a
picnic lunch, kayak to the back of the cove and hike the short trail to Loon
Lake. You can pick red and black currents and high bush cranberries in the
fall, or if you have arrived in your own boat you can either fish for
halibut or troll for salmon in the bay just outside the island. Do you like
birding? We have seen a large variety of birds including a pair of eagles
that have built a nest which you can easily see from the deck. And last but
not least of course, there are the bears.....
